(14 Oct 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre on Monday inaugurated the 7th National Economic Policy Forum in Mogadishu, a significant gathering to encourage debate and promote Somalia’s economic development and investment opportunities across multiple sectors.
Held under the theme “Somalia’s development nexus: economy, governance, and social development,” the forum aims to address critical elements of Somalia’s growth, including strategies for economic progress post-HIPC initiative, advancements in agriculture, food security, and the potential of a blue economy. The event also emphasises inclusive growth, with a special focus on empowering women.
Prime Minister Barre highlighted the forum’s importance as a central platform for driving economic transformation and development within various sectors nationwide. He underscored the forum’s role in shaping a forward-looking vision for Somalia’s economic future, crucial to the country’s sustainable growth.
