(23 Oct 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) has refuted social media reports alleging that government-owned aircraft have either crashed or made emergency landings in remote areas before reaching their destinations. The authority labelled these reports as false and misleading.
In a statement, the SCAA emphasised that enemies of Somalia deliberately fabricated these rumours to sow discord. The agency reassured the public that all helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft in service are safe and continue to operate normally.
The SCAA, responsible for overseeing the nation’s aviation sector, confirmed that all aircraft purchased by the federal government over the past two years are fulfilling their national duties without incident. The authority urged the public to disregard the false reports and rely on verified information from the agency.
