(20 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — A European Union delegation paid an official visit to the Police Coast Guard Centre in Mogadishu, where they were warmly received by the Chief of the Police Coast Guard, Colonel Bashir Abdi Qasim.
The delegation, led by Mrs Sabrina Bazzanella, Head of the Investment Office for Eastern and Southern Africa, and the Deputy High Commissioner of Europe in Somalia, visited to inspect EU-supported projects and evaluate efforts to enhance the operational capacity of Somalia’s Police Coast Guard in ensuring maritime security.
Accompanied by maritime experts and representatives from EUCAP Somalia, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), and other organisations, the delegation discussed completed projects and explored new opportunities to strengthen the Coast Guard’s operational capabilities further.
