(18 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has commended the people of Somaliland for conducting a free and peaceful election in the northern regions. He lauded their political maturity and awareness and emphasised their ability to hold leaders accountable through democratic means. PM Barre made the remarks at the transfer of power between incoming SNA Chief Major General Odawaa Yusuf Rageh and outgoing Chief, Major General Ibrahim Muhyadin.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister highlighted major political achievements during his tenure, noting that the National Consultative Council (NCC) convened 10 times. He said the meetings resulted in significant resolutions, including enabling the House of the People and the Upper House to review and approve four key chapters of the Somali Constitution based on previously reached agreements.
