(16 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has arrested two suspected Al-Shabaab militants in Mogadishu.
The suspects, identified as Kooshin Mohamud Ahmed and Case Farah Hassan, were apprehended during a targeted operation aimed at dismantling the group’s networks in the capital. Kooshin is believed to have been involved in transporting injured militants to hospitals in Mogadishu, while Kayse allegedly worked as a doctor for Al-Shabaab in the Jilib district.
The arrests come days after the detention of two other suspects linked to the killing of three businessmen in Mogadishu.
Al-Shabaab has targeted civilians, including business owners, who comply with government regulations such as the installation of CCTV cameras. The group has used violence, including assassinations and bombings, to intimidate the population and undermine state authority.
