(18 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Somali Police Commissioner, Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, met UNMAS Somalia Head Fran O’Grady to strengthen collaboration on countering explosive threats and advancing the police force’s strategic framework for explosive ordnance disposal.
Fran O’Grady praised Chief Asad’s swift security initiatives, highlighting their potential to create a more effective, accountable, and efficient police force.
O’Grady also reaffirmed UNMAS’s commitment to supporting efforts to eliminate explosive threats in Somalia and ensure the safety of its citizens. The Somali Police thanked UNMAS for its continued support in addressing IEDs in the country.
