Puntland President Forms Taskforce to Support Anti-Terrorism Offensive

(31 Dec 2024) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has formed a special committee to support the region’s fresh anti-terrorism operations targeting the Islamic State group bases in Bari and Sanaag regions. The committee is tasked with providing necessary aid and care for those wounded in the line of duty.

President Deni emphasised the importance of providing comprehensive support to personnel involved in the fight against terrorism. The directive, addressed to all relevant ministries, seeks to ensure smooth collaboration and efficiency in achieving the mission’s objectives.

The newly established taskforce, comprising government ministers and advisors, will spearhead efforts to support and tend to injuries sustained during operations in the rugged Almiskaat Mountainous areas. The group has been tasked with streamlining resources and offering logistical support to frontline forces.

President Deni urged all government offices to support the committee fully, underscoring the critical nature of their work in supporting Puntland’s stability and security.
