(11 Dec 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Mohamed (Kanif), has inaugurated a new women’s detention facility added to the Hamar Jajab police station in Mogadishu. The facility is designed to provide secure and tailored services for female detainees.
“This facility highlights the Somali Police Force’s commitment to delivering respectful and efficient services, particularly in safeguarding women’s rights,” Brigadier General Kanif stated during the ceremony.
The initiative aims to strengthen public confidence in law enforcement by ensuring detainees are held in conditions that respect their dignity and human rights.
Senior police officers, officials from the Hamar Jajab district administration, and representatives from the Banadir region authorities attended the event.
