The European Union Training Mission in Somalia (EUTM-S) has recently conducted topography training to enhance the operational capabilities of Somali National Army (SNA) personnel. The training equipped soldiers with vital skills in map reading, land orientation, and navigation, enabling them to determine their location without relying on GPS or digital tools.
Established in 2010, EUTM-S collaborates with the SNA and Somalia’s Ministry of Defence to strengthen the country’s defence institutions. Its “Three Pillar Approach” focuses on training, mentoring, and advising, further cementing its role in bolstering Somalia’s military capacity.
