Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency Director General, Mustafa Duhulow, accompanied by key departmental directors, held discussions in Mogadishu with the United States Ambassador to Somalia, Amb. Richard H. Riley.
The meeting spotlighted efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation on migration policies and tackle illegal migration. Duhulow appreciated the United States’ steadfast support in strengthening the immigration agency’s infrastructure. He further urged for an expanded partnership between the immigration authorities of both nations to address shared challenges.
In response, Ambassador Riley reaffirmed the U.S. government’s unwavering commitment to supporting the agency’s development. He underscored the importance of enhancing ties through knowledge-sharing initiatives, collaboration on migration issues, and capacity-building programmes to enhance operational efficiency.
