(11 June 2025) ADADO (Halqabsi News) — The President of Galmudug State, Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor), arrived in the town of Adado on Monday as part of a regional tour aimed at bolstering local governance and consolidating state presence in stabilised areas.
President Kariye praised Adado for its role in the founding of the Galmudug administration, describing the town as “a cornerstone of our statehood journey.”
His visit follows a stop in Bahdo, a district recently reclaimed from Al-Shabaab control. While there, the president inaugurated several key development projects, including a new veterinary treatment centre and a modern headquarters for the local administration. He also launched the Al-Macruuf Charitable Foundation, which will focus on religious education, orphan support, and social development.
The tour forms part of the Galmudug government’s broader effort to strengthen state institutions in areas previously affected by conflict. President Kariye is expected to remain in Adado for several days before returning to the state capital, Dhusamareb.
