(16 Apr 2025) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam ‘Ahmed Madobe’ on Tuesday met members of the Supreme Traditional Council of SSC-Khaatumo, according to Garad Jama Garad Ali. The supreme leader of SSC-Khaatumo, who led the delegation received by President Madobe, said the meeting focused on the overall political situation in the country and recent developments in the Khaatumo region.
“We participated in a luncheon hosted in our honour by the President of Jubaland State, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Islam ‘Ahmed Madobe’, accompanied by some members of the SSC-Khaatumo Supreme Traditional Council,” said Garad Jama in a statement issued after the meeting.
“Following the lunch and reception, we exchanged views on the general situation of the country, ongoing changes in the region, priority issues concerning SSC-Khaatumo and Jubaland, and ways to strengthen national unity and cohesion,” he added.
The meeting between President Madobe and the SSC-Khaatumo Council comes after Prime Minister Barre recently visited Las Anod and recognised the interim administration there as a Federal Member State with a mandate to attend the National Consultative Council meetings.
