(23 Apr 2025) ANKARA (Halqabsi News) – General Hassan Salah Abdi, the Commander of the Somali National Army’s Special Forces, is on an official visit to Türkiye, where he has held a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two countries on Tuesday.
During the visit, General Salah met with Lieutenant General Ömer Ertuğrul Erbakan, the Commander of Turkey’s Special Forces, to discuss enhanced collaboration, continued training support, and equipment assistance for Somali special units.
The Somali commander also toured the Turkish Special Forces Command headquarters and visited ASELSAN, a leading defence company known for producing advanced military technology.
The visit underscores the deepening strategic partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, particularly in the security sector, as Türkiye plays a key role in training and equipping Somali forces in their fight against terrorism.
