(17-05-23) NAIROBI – The Ministers of Defense from Somalia and Kenya convened today in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Abdilqadir Mohamed Noor, representing the Federal Republic of Somalia, and Adan Barre Duale, representing Kenya, engaged in a highly productive discussion.
The primary focus of the meeting was to strengthen the ties between the two nations and enhance cooperation in the realms of border security and counterterrorism. Both ministers emphasized the necessity of working in unison to eliminate the threat of terrorism, which plagues not only their respective countries but also the entire region.
During the talks, Noor, Somalia’s Minister of Defense, expressed his gratitude to the Kenyan government for their role in combating the Kharijite forces of the African Union and the Frontline Forces. He also highlighted the leadership role played by Somali forces in the ongoing war against terrorism.
