(02-07-23) BOSASO – The Puntland Police Force announced the successful capture of nine ISIS terrorist leaders and three Al-Shabaab members. These suspects were unveiled to the public at a press conference on Sunday, led by the Chief of the Puntland Police Force in the Bari Region.
The operation, a collaboration between the Puntland Police Force and the 9th Unit of the Puntland Defense Force’s Onkod division, took place in the Balidhin District of the Bari region. The joint mission resulted in the arrest of nine leaders and three Al-Shabaab terrorist members, with some of the individuals choosing to voluntarily surrender to the police.
The arrested terrorists originated from Sudan, Syria, and Ethiopia, highlighting the extensive international network of these terror groups.
This accomplishment shows Puntland’s law enforcement officials’ continuous efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the region’s safety and security.
