(04-10-23) BAIDOA — The South West Administrative Capital, Baidoa, witnessed the inauguration of a key humanitarian affairs coordination meeting on Wednesday, spearheaded by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Salah Ahmed Jama. The initiative was organised by the Somali National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA).
Key attendees of this forum included the Chairman of SoDMA, Mohamud Moallin Abdulle, as well as ministers overseeing humanitarian affairs from regional states including HirShabelle, Jubbaland, Galmudug, South West State, and the Banadir Region. The gathering also saw representation from the international community, emphasising the event’s importance.
The central topics of discussion are the current humanitarian challenges faced by the nation, strategies for stabilising areas recently liberated from insurgents, and preparations for the looming El Niño event.
Lending his support and presence to this significant event was the Deputy Speaker of the South West State Parliament, joining the Deputy Prime Minister in showcasing a united front towards addressing these pressing issues.
