21-02-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) The Banadir Regional Administration Police Force, acting on directives from the Banadir Regional Court, has transferred control of several key facilities back to the Somali government, specifically to the Ministries of Health and Education. These facilities, which include a hospital and a childcare centre, had been illegally occupied by civilians for an extended period, posing a challenge to public order and service provision.
The handover ceremony saw the former Laanzaleeti Hospital in the Abdi Aziz district being returned to the Ministry of Health. This facility, recognised as one of the government’s initial healthcare institutions, signifies a crucial step in restoring essential health services to the community.
Additionally, the Somali Police Force facilitated the return of a former childcare centre located in Hamarjajab district to the Ministry of Education. The illegal occupation of such a facility underscores the broader issue of civilian encroachment on public properties, a concern that the government is keenly addressing to ensure the resumption of educational services for the youngest members of society.
The operation reflects the Somali Police Force’s dedication to upholding law and order, safeguarding public properties, and ensuring that governmental facilities are utilised for their intended purposes.
