(29 March 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Tribal militias in Dinsoor District, Bay Region, on Friday reignited hostilities, resulting in numerous casualties. Reports to Halqabsi News confirm that clashes have escalated despite recent attempts to mediate tensions in the district. The conflict follows a brief calm, with fighting resuming amidst unresolved disputes between the factions.
In response to the violence, clan elders are spearheading an initiative to establish a ceasefire through an emergency meeting, aiming to negotiate peace between the warring parties. Additionally, the ATMIS troops in Dinsoor are intervening to help enforce a ceasefire and separate the combatants.
The South West State Government and federal representatives from Dinsoor are also actively seeking solutions to end the conflict. Their efforts reflect a concerted push to address the underlying issues driving the violence and to prevent further harm to the local population.
