(22 April 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Newly appointed Federal Minister for Interior, Reconciliation, and Federalism, MP Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, paid a courtesy call on the residences of the leaders of Galmudug and HirShabelle, Ahmed Abdi Kariye ‘Qoorqoor’ and Ali Gudlawe Hussein in Mogadishu on Monday.
Reports indicate that the purpose of the visits was to facilitate introductions with the leaders, as the minister has recently assumed responsibility for the interior portfolio, which oversees several significant collaborative projects with federal member states.
The meetings also took place days after President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud extended invitations to the federal member state leaders for a National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting in Mogadishu. The agenda for the meeting includes important national issues such as security, the war against Al-Shabaab, and constitutional amendments. According to government sources, the meeting was indefinitely postponed due to technical reasons. However, it is anticipated to be rescheduled in the forthcoming weeks.
