(24 April 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Somalia’s newly minted Minister of Internal Security, General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, led a key meeting on Wednesday with federal Member State security counterparts. The meeting in Mogadishu, uniting leaders from Jubaland, HirShabelle, Galmudug, and South West, focused on reinforcing partnerships across security divisions.
Strategies to unify efforts against the spectre of terrorism were paramount in discussions, with an emphasis on augmenting police operations both federally and regionally. Minister Fartaag emphasised the importance of a cohesive approach to dismantle the threats posed by Al-Shabaab and similar groups and boost overall security cooperation.
Minister Fartaag commended the dedication of the various security agencies to safeguarding civilians and their properties, calling on them to double their sacrifices.
