(29 April 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — The Somali National Army carried out an operation in the Bakol region of the South West State on Sunday. The operation targeted Qaydar-Eddi, Fayerboor, Hibow, and Morigabey, resulting in the arrest of several Al-Shabaab militants.
The SNA’s 60th Division, stationed in the South West regions and accompanied by South West military and local forces, has recently intensified military operations against Al-Shabaab hideouts in the Bay and Bakol regions.
This operation is part of the ongoing military offensive against Al-Shabaab across the country. The offensive has led to the defection of hundreds of militants in recent weeks.
