(03-06-24) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – SNA Deputy Chief General Madey Sheikh Nur has announced that the stalled anti-Al-Shabaab operations will resume across several regions in Somalia in June. General Madey said that the security forces are expected to sustain the achievements made in the war against Al-Shabaab and to liberate more areas from the militant group.
He further noted that the SNA forces have been prepared for operations and are mostly stationed at the frontlines, awaiting directives to kick off the operations.
“The SNA are today waiting only for directives to launch the operations. The forces are currently at their designated frontlines. While success is determined by God, we expect to further weaken Al-Shabaab during June,” said General Madey.
He made the remarks during a Mogadishu event commemorating women’s key role in the security and stabilisation of the country.
