(04-06-24) ADADO (Halqabsi News) – Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qorqor), alongside officials from the Adado district administration and Galmudug cabinet members, today inaugurated a newly built livestock market in Adado. This initiative is part of a wider prosperity project aimed at boosting the Galmudug economy.
In a separate ceremony, President Qorqor, Adado District Governor Farah Diriye, and other important regional officials laid the foundation stone for a project constructing 117 houses. These homes will provide much-needed shelter for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those affected by drought in the region.
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), with the support of the UNHCR, are implementing this housing project as part of their sustainable solutions initiative.
The authorities also marked the commencement of a new water well project in the area. Direct Aid and NRC will collaborate on implementing this project, which will provide residents with improved access to clean water.
