(06-06-24) CAIRO (Halqabsi News) – Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit officially received the new Somali Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ali Abdi Awaare, at the League’s headquarters on Thursday.
Ambassador Awaare presented his credentials to the Secretary-General, marking the formal start of his diplomatic mission.
In a statement, Ambassador Awaare expressed his gratitude for the Arab League’s continued support in Somalia’s state-building efforts. He emphasized the importance of strengthening ties and cooperation between Somalia and the Arab League, pledging to restore Somalia’s prominent role within the organization.
The reception was also attended by the Mauritanian Ambassador, who currently chairs the Arab League Council.
