(21 July 2024) KISMAYO (Halqabsi News) – According to local media reports, five Al-Shabaab militants travelling in a small vehicle were killed in an explosion in Laaggan area, located between Gududey and Bulo Ba’ad in the Lower Juba region. The explosion occurred while the militants were assembling an IED, resulting in their immediate deaths.
Residents of the area reported hearing a powerful explosion and later arriving at the scene to find a destroyed vehicle.
Al-Shabaab has not yet commented on the incident, which came amidst increased military activities in Lower Juba region by joint SNA and Jubaland security forces aimed at liberating areas controlled by Al-Shabaab.
