(05 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – The Puntland House of Representatives held a workshop for the Human Rights and Social Affairs Committee on Monday. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) supported the training, which aimed to enhance the Members of Parliament’s knowledge of human rights monitoring in Puntland.
During the event, the legislators discussed and shared their views on the importance of advancing and defending human rights in Puntland.
MP Mohamud Dhakul Hirsi, Chairperson of the Justice Committee, and Parliament’s Secretary General, Abdirazak Hiddig, thanked UNSOM for the workshop. Their assistance helped increase the knowledge and understanding of Puntland House of Representatives members on matters relating to human rights.
