(19 Aug 2024) NAIROBI (Halqabsi News) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni today met with US Ambassador to Somalia Richard H. Riley in Nairobi to discuss strengthening cooperation on counterterrorism, security institutions, and development projects.
The meeting was attended by Puntland government officials, presidential advisors, and security officers. According to a statement from the Puntland Presidency, the two sides discussed bolstering the historic partnership between Puntland and the US, particularly in areas of security and economic development.
The talks emphasised the importance of joint efforts in combating terrorism and enhancing the capacity of Puntland’s security forces. Both sides also expressed their commitment to promoting development initiatives and attracting investment to Puntland.
