(21 Aug 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre delivered a keynote speech and officially closed the Somali Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Forum, organised by Magan Forum. The event served as a vital platform for enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to promote investment and development in Somalia.
In his speech, Prime Minister Barre emphasised the essential role of collaboration between the government and private businesses in driving the country’s economic growth, creating jobs, and improving public services. He reiterated the government’s commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment that welcomes innovation and fosters sustainable development.
Barre called on the private sector to actively engage in economic reforms, stressing that their involvement is crucial to Somalia’s economic transformation. He underlined that public-private cooperation is the cornerstone for leveraging Somalia’s vast natural resources and propelling the country towards long-term prosperity.
The forum has convened government officials, business leaders, financial institutions, policymakers, and civil society representatives to explore the opportunities, challenges, and strategies for the sustainable development of Public-Private Partnerships in Somalia.
