(19 Oct 2024) DHUSAMAREB (Halqabsi News) – The State Minister of Finance for Galmudug, Mr. Abdirazak Mohamud Jama, has opened an awareness and prevention programme on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing in Dhusamareb. The initiative, organised by the Financial Reporting Center (FRC), aims to raise awareness and strengthen efforts to combat financial crimes related to terrorism.
The week-long programme includes participants from various government ministries, agencies, and civil society groups in Galmudug. This initiative, supported by the Federal Government, makes Galmudug the second regional state to benefit from this comprehensive program aimed at enhancing the fight against terrorism financing.
The Financial Reporting Centre, responsible for preventing money laundering and countering terrorism financing in Somalia, designed the program to promote cooperation and improve strategies. The State Minister encouraged participants to fully engage with the training and apply the knowledge gained to counter these financial threats effectively.
