(13 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — Federal Government officials from security and rule of law institutions met international stakeholders, including UN agencies, donors, embassies, NGOs, and civil society, to discuss the nation’s security and justice goals under the new National Transformation Plan (NTP) 2025-2029.
The engagement meeting, co-chaired by the Permanent Secretary of Somalia’s Ministry of Justice, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, and the UNDP Resident Representative – OIC, provided a platform for stakeholders to share insights, offer strategic guidance, and align efforts with global best practices and funding objectives. During the meeting, UNDP pledged its support by deploying experts from its Regional Hub in Amman to assist in the NTP process.
Collaboration on the NTP will continue through mid-lab validation and daily sessions. The goal is to complete the plan by December 2024.
