(25 Nov 2024) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday hosted Selma Malika Haddadi, Ambassador of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, at Villa Somalia. The meeting highlighted the strong and historic relationship between Somalia and Algeria.
During the discussions, President Mohamud reiterated Somalia’s dedication to enhancing bilateral relations with Algeria, stressing the importance of continued collaboration on regional and international issues.
The dialogue also focused on the upcoming roles of Somalia and Algeria as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. Both leaders emphasised the significance of a unified approach to advancing peace, stability, and development in the region while ensuring that Africa’s interests are prominently advocated on the global stage.
