(26 Nov 2024) GAROWE (Halqabsi News) — Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, who spent Monday night in Bossaso, the capital of the Bari region, has initiated meetings on security matters in the Bari region.
President Deni, currently stationed at the PMPF (Puntland Maritime Police Force) base in Bossaso, is reported to have held meetings with security officials, instructing them to prepare for a campaign against ISIS militants.
Additionally, he is expected to hold further meetings in the coming hours with regional and district-level officials to discuss strengthening security and preparations for a military operation aimed at weakening ISIS terrorist groups.
The ISIS militants based in the Al-Miskat Mountains of the Bari region have been gaining strength in recent times, bolstered by the influx of numerous foreign fighters, as highlighted in recent security reports.
