(27-Feb-23) Mogadishu, Somalia – Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, initiated the examination process for prospective teachers in a ceremony. Today, the testing process for new teachers of the Ministry of Education was launched, marking a significant milestone for the country’s education sector.
As part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve the quality of education, a test to select 3,000 high-quality teachers from a pool of 8,000 candidates will be conducted. The selection process is expected to be rigorous and thorough, with the Ministry seeking only the best candidates who can provide high-quality education to students.
Hamdi Mohamed Abdi Ali, a mother of an 8-day-old child, was one of the candidates. Her dedication to her profession and her commitment to improving the education system in Somalia were commended by the Prime Minister. It is commendable that mothers like Hamdi are taking the exam to contribute to their country’s development despite the challenges they face, and it is essential to recognize their efforts and sacrifices.
