(01-Mar-23) Kismao, Somalia – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia arrived in Kismayo, the temporary center of Jubbaland, on Wednsday, to monitor the situation in the region and accelerate the second phase of the country’s liberation plan. The plan aims to remove the Al-Shabaab terrorists from areas where they are harassing the Somali people in Jubba, Lower Shabelle, Bay, and Bakool.
President Mohamud was warmly welcomed by President Ahmed Islam Mohamed of Jubbaland and hundreds of citizens of Kismayo. The primary objective of President Mohamud’s visit is to work towards the confirmation of the Jubbaland agreement, which will serve as a platform to unite the local people and seek their suggestions for the development of the government of Somalia and the country.
The locals of Kismayo have expressed their joy and hope for a better future for their region and the country as a whole. The President’s arrival in Kismayo has generated positive reactions from the locals. This visit is a significant step towards achieving lasting peace and stability in the Jubbaland region and Somalia at large.
