(23-05-23) MOGADISHU – Senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and Federal Member States (FMS) participated in a workshop on Tuesday aimed at assessing the ongoing implementation of the National Stabilisation Strategy. The workshop was supported by the United Nations (UN) and conducted by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of Somalia.
In a tweet from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), it was announced that officials from Jubaland, South West State, Hirshabelle, Galmudug, and Banadir attended the workshop. The key focus was on the use of a new dashboard tool, intended to assess and showcase the progress of the National Stabilisation Strategy.
This workshop illustrates the shared commitment and collaboration between the FGS, FMS, and the UN in Somalia’s journey towards stability and reconciliation. The National Stabilisation Strategy aims to mitigate and ultimately resolve the ongoing conflict, promote peace, and strengthen governance in the country.
The new dashboard tool being introduced serves as a tracking system to ensure transparency and efficiency in the implementation of the Strategy. It is expected to provide a comprehensive view of progress, challenges faced, and the steps needed for further progress.
With its implementation, the FGS, FMS, and international partners such as the UN can be better informed of the on-the-ground realities, allowing for more targeted and effective efforts in enhancing peace and stability in Somalia.
