(17-05-23) MOGADISHU –An ambitious two-day training workshop commenced on Wednesday in Mogadishu, targeting the judicial competence of twenty judges and court clerks from the Benadir region. The United Nations (UN) spearheads this training, which focuses on improving case management and judgment writing skills, key components of the justice delivery system.
The initiative is part of the UN’s continued capacity-building support for Somalia’s justice sector, carried out under the auspices of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia. The mission remains dedicated to strengthening the nation’s justice system and enhancing its institutional capacity, thereby fostering a more resilient rule of law within Somalia.
The training program, spanning two days, aims to equip these judicial officials with the tools needed to perform their duties more effectively and transparently. This capacity-building effort is expected to help Somalia make substantial progress towards a more credible and impartial judicial system.
For years, UN Somalia has played a key role in strengthening Somalia’s governmental and institutional capacities. Today’s event reaffirms its ongoing commitment to the growth and stabilization of Somalia.
