(14-06-23) MOGADISHU — A delegation of officials from UNESCO, the United Nations Human Rights Council, and the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) visited the Somali Academy of Science and Arts (SOMASA) on Wednesday, underscoring the need for support and promotion of the country’s rich cultural and arts sector.
Recognising the vital importance of Somalia’s cultural heritage, the United Nations (UN) team held a series of discussions with local artists, academicians, and SOMASA representatives on the potential avenues of support from the global body to preserve and nourish the sector.
