(03-07-23) MOGADISHU – Somalia’s Auditor General, Ahmed Isse Gutale, convened a meeting on Monday with senior officials from the President’s Office, the Prime Minister’s Office, and both Houses of the Federal Parliament. The meeting focused on key findings from the National Audit Office and the acceleration of their recommended actions.
The collective aim was to enhance accountability, transparency, and efficiency within Somalia’s financial management and institutional governance.
This development followed the Auditor General’s office releasing the Compliance Audit Report and the Financial Audit Report for the fiscal year ended on December 2022, marking the first time such reports have been issued in a timely manner.
The success of these initiatives relies on the government’s commitment to implement the proposed recommendations, marking a significant moment in the advancement of Somalia’s financial governance and democratic processes.
