(16/07/23) Mogadishu – The elite Danab Commandos carried out planned raids in Budbud village, Galgaduud region, killing high-ranking members and militants affiliated with the extremist group Al-Shabaab on Saturday.
Mr. Abdiraman Yusuf, Somalia’s Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, stated that the operation in the areas of Galcad and Budbud in the Galgaduud region resulted in the elimination of 18 heavily armed extremists, including high-ranking members as well as militants affiliated with the extremist group.
Danab Force spokesperson highlighted the destruction of sites where Al Shabaab prepared explosives.
The National Army has launched a well-planned operation to clear the areas where the extremist groups operate, focusing on their hideouts and strongholds, The second phase of the nationwide campaign to eliminate terrorists and restore peace and stability is set to begin soon.
