(06/07/23) MOGADISHU – The Attorney General of Somalia, Sulaiman Mahmoud Mohamed, has disclosed an exhaustive list of government officials facing charges.

The list, released Thursday, encapsulates both officials currently under detention on corruption allegations and those who have sought refuge outside the country in an apparent attempt to evade prosecution.

Mohamed’s demand to the court for prompt trial and hearing dates for all implicated officials underscores the government’s seriousness in addressing corruption. He also signalled that ongoing investigations into further corruption and public theft cases remain in process.
