(06/07/23) MOGADISHU – Warta Nabadda district of Mogadishu on Wednesday, hosted a meeting focusing on increasing public awareness around justice, children’s rights, and human rights. Organised by Fardowso Abdullahi Abtidoon, head of the Department of Violence Against Women and Children of the Somali Police.
The session drew participants from the military, police, and security ministries, including Defence and Justice, along with administrators from the Banadir region and representatives from various sections of society.
Violence against children, their rights, and their access to justice were key topics of discussion. The participants also explored potential ways to nurture and protect Somali children in these challenging times.
Abtidoon emphasised the need for Somali parents to monitor their children’s activities, as a measure to prevent their potential involvement in criminal activities and to shield them from harm.
