(01/08/23) MOGADISHU – The Constitutional Review Committee initiated reviews on the National Consultative Council (NCC) agreement dated 27 May this year. The Committee’s Chairman, Burhan Adan Omar, and Deputy, Mohamed Hassan Diris, presided over a meeting aimed at reviewing the NCC agreement from a constitutional perspective. The draft agreement was submitted to the committee on 26 July by the leadership of the two Houses of Parliament.
The Committee, which places the highest priority on completing the constitution, is expected to present their recommendations on the controversial agreement to the Parliament for further review.
