(16-08-23) MOGADISHU – Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has appointed Dr Hodan Osman Abdi as the Senior Advisor and National Coordinator of Human Capital Development at the Office of the Prime Minister. “With an impressive amalgamation of academic prowess, vast experience, and unwavering commitment to transformative change, Dr Abdi’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to harness human capital for sustainable national progress,” read part of the appointment statement from the office of the Prime Minister.
According to the statement, Dr Abdi’s vast international experience and advocacy efforts make her a frontrunner in applying global best practices and aligning Somalia’s developmental strategies, placing human capital investment at the forefront of its nation-building agenda.
Reacting to her appointment, an elated Dr Abdi stated, “This role resonates deeply with my lifelong passion for teaching and human development. It’s more than just a new role—it’s a continuation of my journey. I’m eager to work alongside our government, shaping policies that will profoundly impact the future of Somalia.”
In July of this year, Prime Minister Hamza appointed her as his advisor on foreign relations.
