(04-08-23) MOGADISHU – A high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Special Envoy of the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was welcomed by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, at the Presidential Villa Somalia on Thursday.
The meeting, which highlights the continuing diplomatic relationship between Somalia and Saudi Arabia, focused on the key areas of security and investment, marking a significant point in the history of mutual support and cooperation between the two nations.
President Mohamud, having received a message from King Salman Binu Abdaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed Binu Salman of Saudi Arabia, underscored the role of the relationship with the Saudi Kingdom. He stated, “Saudi Arabia has always been at the forefront of nations supporting our country during challenging times.”
The Saudi delegation, following the discussions, affirmed their readiness to bolster Somalia’s security and stimulate economic growth through various investments. This contribution is anticipated to play a significant role in Somalia’s stability and in creating new employment opportunities for its citizens.
Commenting on the meeting, the Minister of Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh, noted that this diplomatic visit illustrates the ongoing commitment of Saudi Arabia to Somalia’s prosperity.
