(07-08-23) MOGADISHU – In a resolute call to action, Somalia’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Ibrahim Sheikh Muhyadin addressed units of the National Armed Forces stationed at the General Gordon base in Mogadishu on Monday. He emphasised their need to brace for the culmination of the first phase of anti-terrorist operations and the imminent commencement of the second phase.
Gen. Muhyadin lauded the forces for their significant advancements against the terrorists, urging them to fortify these gains. He emphasised the strategic importance of readiness for the upcoming phase, underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to eradicating Al-Shabaab threats. The timeline for the launch of the second phase remains undisclosed, but anticipation is high considering increased government readiness, including President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s visit to Galmudug to oversee the operations in the region.
