(19-09-23) MOGADISHU — A two-day training focused on understanding Somalia’s human rights obligations and the significant role of civil society in state reporting to the UN Treaty Bodies wrapped up on Monday in Mogadishu.
The session was organised by the African Civil Society Organisations and received support from the United Nations. It saw the participation of members from civil society, the Ministry of Women and Human Rights Development, and the Somali Directorate of Maritime Affairs.
The primary objective of the initiative was to bolster the collaboration between public institutions and civil society, with this partnership intending to uplift and safeguard human rights in the country.
