(29-11-23) GALKACYO – Puntland police in Galkacyo successfully reunited a one-and-a-half-year-old girl with her mother on Wednesday. This event marks a poignant moment for the Mudug region. The governor of Mudug region publicly expressed his profound gratitude to the Mudug police force for their role in this sensitive case.

The child, Siham Abdi Ahmed, faced a harrowing separation from her mother, Ebyan Ali Omar, after being kidnapped by Mohamed Mooryac Hassan. Hassan is currently detained by the authorities. The incident raised significant alarm and concern within the community.

In a touching display of care, Siham was initially taken under the wing of Mudug Regional Governor, Faisal Sheikh Ali, at his residence. She received care there until she could be safely reunited with her mother.

Ebyan Ali Omar, visibly moved, extended her heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their relentless efforts in ensuring her daughter’s safe return. Notably, the relatives of the suspect, Mohamed Mooryac Hassan, contributed to locating Siham, underscoring the community’s strong sense of justice and empathy.

This successful reunion not only highlights the efficiency and dedication of the Puntland police but also reflects the deep-rooted communal bonds and collective responsibility within the Mudug region.
