(14/11/23) MOGADISHU – President Hassan Sheikh has actively engaged with the Council of Ministers to advance his administration’s political agenda, with a particular focus on crucial constitutional amendments. Aiming to steer the nation towards progressive change, President Sheikh has rallied the Cabinet to work in unison on this essential effort.
Chairing the Cabinet meeting, which also discussed flood response efforts, President Sheikh underscored the significant strides already achieved in key government priorities, such as debt relief and the easing of arms embargoes, marking a positive direction for the country’s future.
The President pinpointed the urgent necessity to finalise the constitution and step up the campaign against Al-Shabaab, marking these as notable areas for governmental focus.
President Mohamud has been campaigning for the adoption of the outcomes from the May 2023 National Consultative Council meeting, which advocated for changes in the government’s leadership structure.
