(05/11/23) HARGEISA — Somaliland police have apprehended five individuals in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Nim’an Mohamed Omar in Hargeisa on Saturday. The primary suspect, 17-year-old Abshir Saleeban Hussein, was apprehended between Wajaale and Gabiley as he reportedly attempted to flee to Ethiopia. According to the police report, Hussein was directly responsible for Omar’s death and was caught after a brief period on the run.
In a concerted effort to bring justice to the case, the police also arrested four other suspects alleged to have aided Hussein in the murder. The identities of these accomplices have not been disclosed at this time.
The Somaliland Police Command has issued a strong statement assuring the public that all five suspects will face the full force of the law. They will be presented before the competent court, ensuring that the case is handled with the utmost seriousness and respect for legal processes.
