(25-12-23) MOGADISHU (Halqabsi News) — General Dayah Abdi Abdulle, the Commander of the Land Forces of the Somali National Army, has announced victory against Al-Shabaab after recent military offensives in various regions. His claims support the defence ministry’s recent declaration that 130 militants were neutralised in renewed military operations following the slowing down of the military offensive due to the Deyr rains.
General Abdulle confirmed the seizure or neutralisation of many weapons during the campaigns in Galmudug, HirShabelle, and Jubaland.
The general’s announcement follows a surge in military actions in the country, including a targeted airstrike near Jilib in Middle Juba last week, which led to the killing of key Al-Shabaab commander Maalin Ayman.
